PATTINSON ALL SET TO BRING THE STORM!

The six years since James Pattinson last bowled against England have been a soul-crushing treadmill of injuries, rehab and dashed expectations but the patched-up pacemen is again daring to dream on the verge of the Ashes.
"I knew that if I was up and running, string a few games on the pitch, that I would have every chance of getting picked in an Ashes team," he told reporters at Australia’s base in Southampton.
Pattinson has mostly been a reluctant witness through it all, adding only five tests to his record, the last against New Zealand in 2016. His six-wicket haul against Brendon McCullum’s side in Christchurch helped Australia claim a seven-wicket victory and revived memories of his explosive entry into tests when he claimed 14 wickets in his first two matches against New Zealand in 2011.

The journey of IPL

The inaugural edition of wt20 in 2007 did not go down well with the other cricket associations as they considered t20 format as a comedy and not only did the teams but also icon players like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting also backed out from the tournament. But no one thought that the birth of this new t20 format would pave way for a domestic t20 league which would act as a platform for budding cricketers to show their talent.   It was in 2008 when the Bcci organized a domestic t20 tournament named “Indian Premier League” with a Sanskrit slogan Yatra Pratibha Avsara Prapnotihi" it means “where talent meets opportunities”. It has been 10 years and the tournament is stepping into its 11th edition but not all looks good for the tournament as the Bcci has given some guidelines to stage the tournament with Lok Sabha elections and Icc cricket world cup in 2019.     The guidelines for hosting the tournament are:- • Host the entire tournament in South Africa • Host a par...

Repeat of Headingley Test?

As they say "History Repeats Itself" no cricket pundit or expert would have ever thought that the shadows of Headingley test match in 1981 would haunt Kohli and Co. It was the 3rd day of the second test with visitors putting up a Mammoth score of 443-7. The declaration  raised eyebrows as Rohit Sharma was batting on 63 and was looking well set for another Hitman hundred. The overnight score of Australia was 8-0 as the day ended.                                       It was the 3rd day of the boxing day test and the Aussie batters wanted to start their run chase on a positive note but Jasprit Bumrah had some other plans . He ripped  the Aussie middle order and bagged a 6-fer for 33 runs became the first Asian bowler to take fifers or less in SENA ( South Africa , England, Newzeland and Aust...

The end of an Era

As they say "Nothing great will last forever" the dominance of Brendon Mccullum in t20 cricket ends with the former blackcaps captain putting curtains on his t20 career in franchise cricket, a tall muscular keeper with a tattooed body and chewing gum made him look different from rest of the keeper's in international cricket. Even before the inception of t20 cricket Baz showcased the glimpses of t20 style batting by Smoking sixes and fours from the word go. In cricket opening an innings means leaving good balls playing cautiously and building partnership making the job easier for the other batsmen to follow, but Mccullum gave opening a new definition as he would lead his team and start the innings in an explosive manner changing the way openers played the game in the previous times.                 Brendon Barrie  "Baz" Mccullum made his ODI and t20 debut against Australia...
