The journey of IPL

The inaugural edition of wt20 in 2007 did not go down well with the other cricket associations as they considered t20 format as a comedy and not only did the teams but also icon players like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting also backed out from the tournament. But no one thought that the birth of this new t20 format would pave way for a domestic t20 league which would act as a platform for budding cricketers to show their talent.   It was in 2008 when the Bcci organized a domestic t20 tournament named “Indian Premier League” with a Sanskrit slogan Yatra Pratibha Avsara Prapnotihi" it means “where talent meets opportunities”. Repeat of Headingley Test?

As they say "History Repeats Itself" no cricket pundit or expert would have ever thought that the shadows of Headingley test match in 1981 would haunt Kohli and Co. It was the 3rd day of the second test with visitors putting up a Mammoth score of 443-7.
